Sinister question

Interesting comment from a reader Florida. Thanks HMC.

Read this question, come up with an answer and then scroll down to the
bottom for the result. This is not a trick question. It is as it reads.
No one I know has gotten it right-including me.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met this guy whom she
did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much her dream guy
she believed him to be just that! She fell in love with him right there,
but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later
she killed her sister. Question: What is her motive in killing her
sister?
(Give this some thought before you answer).

She wanted to meet him again so she hoped he would come to the funeral.
Many of the people who get this correct are psychopaths who have very little conscience. So if you know someone who did get it right, watch out. If you yourself answered correctly you have some potential as a politician.

So here we are in the sweetest season of the year

Although this winter has been a mild one by New England standards we still eagerly await Spring. In this early season we are starting to see the steam plumes rise from the sugar houses in the woods. Those little bastions of industry are producing "the farmers first crop".
It is so labor intensive to produce this New England delicacy. A farmer must first cut loads upon loads of firewood to produce enough heat intense enough to boil off most of the cool clear sap. Turning that thin watery liquid into that thick amber syrup that caries the name of genuine Maple. What would breakfast be without it.
So the next time you sit down to some pancakes with that delicous flavor spilling over the sides of the three high stack think of that lonely guy working away in a sugar shack deep in the maple grove producing that fine natural product.

A HERO FOR OUR TIME

I heard that Frank Miller is working on a new Graphic Novel which will tell the tale of Batman heading out in search of Osama Bin Laden. His goal of course is to seek revenge for the rampage Osama let loose in our genuine Gotham City. About time a Super Hero gets involved in the war against terror.
When one cannot find satisfaction in reality we often turn to fantasy to find the satisfaction we require. I think this comic will be a big seller. I know I will buy it. Will you?
Go for it Batman, you are entering a new era.

My letter to the editor of the Daily Hampshire Gazette

To the editor:
Incentives for individuals to conserve oil to heat their home are few and far between while large oil companies like Exxon Mobil Corp. posted record profits for any U.S. company on Monday - $10.71 billion for the fourth quarter and $36.13 billion for the year. For the past few years my family have been prepaying in the beginning of the heating season. As a result we received a lower rate on our the price of oil per gallon. During the course of the winter we kept our thermostat lower, heated with wood and used other heat conservation measures. Because of our ecological measures we did not use all the oil purchased on the prepay plan. Instead of being rewarded by the oil company for conserving this diminishing resource the opposite occurred. The oil we had in reserve that we have already paid for is being charged at the higher prevailing rate, causing us to pay considerably more for this year's heating bill. Not a great incentive for someone to try and reduce their burning of this fossil fuel. It is no surprise to me that Exxon and other oil companies are making huge profits as attempts to conserve by individuals are punished for their efforts by getting charged more money for the oil that they already purchased and chose not to squander.

Very eggciting Art exhibit at Meekins.

Bill Rohan is an astonishing man with amazing eyes. If there is anyone I know who appreciates that gift it is Bill and he showed the world today in Williamsburg. His extensive collection of eggshell mosaics is beyond belief in its beauty and detail. He reports that this show was five years in the making. Taking the most minute piece of eggshell and using those erratically shaped grains of sand to form stunning visual images. His masterpiece self portrait is a must see. He even has a mummified eggshell wrapped nude statue {modestly placed maple leaf} of himself.
He also uses the eggshells to form words, poems and idiosyncratic eggy phrases. Seeing this show is a privilege and I can't but comment that was an eggcellent way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon in February.
